School Children Mental Health in Europe

Abstract:
The general objective of the project is to collect information on mental health in schoolchildren (prevalence, risk factors and use of care), comparable across different European countries and across multiple informants (self-report and parent/teacher report). The purpose is to develop, test and validate a kit of scientifically tested instruments for measuring mental health in elementary schoolchildren (6-11 years old) in order to detect signals or risk factors for mental health problems at an early stage. It also should stimulate the development of prevention programs, the monitoring of mental health in young children and the improvement of access to health care.
